Allergen & Cross-Contamination Statement
The Flock & Whisk creates a wide range of bakes using gluten-free, dairy & egg free ingredients. To help customers make informed choices, please read the following important information before ordering:
🌿 Ingredients & Allergen Handling
• All products made for sale use gluten-free flours and are dairy-free and egg-free as standard.
• Many of my gluten-free bakes include ground almonds, which add moisture, structure, and richness. For this reason, my products are not suitable for anyone with a severe nut allergy.
• Although I use gluten-free oat flour and gluten-free oat milk, I also work with soya milk. Alternatives can be used on request where possible.
🍞 Gluten & Cross-Contamination Controls
My bakery currently operates from my home kitchen. I am personally gluten free, but other members of my household are not. This means I cannot guarantee a completely gluten-free environment. However, I follow strict procedures to minimise risk:
• All business ingredients are stored in separate fridge freezers from household food.
• Gluten-containing household products are kept sealed in a designated area away from my baking zone.
• All gluten-free flours, starches, sugars, and other baking ingredients are kept in sealed tubs on dedicated shelves on the opposite side of the kitchen.
• My oven is deep cleaned weekly, and no gluten-containing items are baked on production days.
• Work surfaces, equipment, and tools are cleaned thoroughly before each baking session.
Despite not being legally classified as a certified gluten-free kitchen, many coeliac customers choose and enjoy my bakes without issue. Every person’s sensitivity is different, so if you’re unsure, please reach out.
⚠️ Important Legal Note
Because all major allergens are present in the household, there is always a small risk of cross-contamination. This includes:
gluten, nuts, peanuts, sesame, soya, sulphites, eggs, milk, mustard, celery, and others.
